China has reaffirmed its commitment to improving global governance with the release of a white paper outlining the principles, proposals, and actions of its Global Governance Initiative (GGI).

The document highlights China’s vision for a more just and equitable international system based on sovereign equality, multilateralism, international law, people-centered development and practical cooperation. It says the initiative has gained broad international support, with nearly 160 countries and international organizations endorsing it and more than 60 joining the Group of Friends of Global Governance.

China also stressed the importance of upholding the United Nations’ central role, promoting dialogue over confrontation, and encouraging major countries to respect international law and shoulder greater global responsibilities.

The white paper says China will continue to advance multilateral cooperation, support global peace and development, and work with other countries to build a fairer, more inclusive international governance system.
