China has rejected renewed support by some countries for the so-called South China Sea Arbitration Award, describing the ruling as illegal, null and void, and accusing external powers of interfering in regional affairs.

According to the commentary, China maintains that sovereignty and maritime rights in the South China Sea are based on historical facts and international law. It argues that disputes should be resolved through direct consultation between the countries concerned rather than external intervention.

The article also highlights ongoing cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea and advancing negotiations on a Code of Conduct. It says the region remains generally stable and calls on countries outside the region to refrain from actions that could increase tensions.
