A recent Pew Research Center survey of 42,000 people across 36 countries and regions found that China received more favourable views than the United States in 27 of them, including several Western countries such as Spain, Italy and Canada.

The findings reflect growing international interest in China’s development and policies. China’s economic growth, technological innovation, openness and commitment to international cooperation have contributed to its improving global image.

The country has continued to expand trade and exchanges with developing nations, including through zero-tariff measures for many African and least-developed countries. Its visa policies and expanding China-Europe freight train services have also strengthened international connectivity.

China’s consistent approach to cooperation and dialogue has further contributed to international confidence. Amid global economic and geopolitical uncertainties, its emphasis on peaceful development, mutual benefit and openness has offered greater predictability to international partners.

The survey highlights a broader global desire for reliable partnerships, peaceful development and win-win cooperation. China’s continued engagement with the international community is positioning it as an important partner in addressing shared global challenges.
