China is advancing the development of six key infrastructure networks to support its modern industrial system and accelerate economic transformation under the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

The networks include the water network, new-type power grid, computing network, next-generation communication network, urban underground utility networks and logistics network.

Together, they are helping traditional industries become more intelligent and efficient. At a smart agricultural equipment factory in Weifang, Shandong Province, 5G-Advanced technology coordinates hundreds of robots, while AI systems conduct rapid quality inspections.

The networks are also supporting emerging industries. In Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, 6G technology provides continuous coverage for drone logistics, allowing deliveries along a 7.4-kilometer route to be completed faster than by ground transport.

Computing, communications and advanced power infrastructure are also creating conditions for future industries such as brain-computer interfaces, AI-powered biomanufacturing, hydrogen energy and nuclear fusion.

By strengthening these interconnected networks, China aims to improve the flow of resources, enhance industrial efficiency and build a more resilient and integrated modern economy.
