China has criticized a reported plan by Japan’s Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum to replace the term “Nanjing Massacre” with “Nanjing Incident” on one of its exhibition panels.

The article states that the Nanjing Massacre is a historically and legally recognized event, citing the findings of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, which documented widespread atrocities committed during the Japanese occupation of Nanjing.

It argues that altering the terminology distorts historical facts and calls on Japan to uphold historical truth, acknowledge its wartime history, and contribute to regional peace and mutual trust.
