China has sharply criticized recent actions by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adding Chinese foreign-produced power inverters and advanced robotics to its “Covered List,” which bans their entry into the U.S. market under the banner of national security.

Beijing denounced the move as unilateral bullying and discriminatory market suppression that undermines bilateral economic progress and disrupts global supply chains. The decision extends a series of regulatory restrictions targeting Chinese technological and industrial development, following earlier bans on telecom equipment, routers, and drones.

China emphasized that major-power competition should center on fair rules, mutual benefit, and a shared “cooperation list” rather than trade protectionism and artificial market barriers. Warning that zero-sum policies will ultimately harm U.S. innovation and inflate costs for consumers, Beijing urged Washington to respect market principles, remove discriminatory measures, and implement the consensus reached by both nations’ leaders to foster strategic stability.
