Beijiao township in Foshan, Guangdong province, has become China’s largest industrial robot manufacturing hub, producing one in every 20 industrial robots made in the country.

The township has built a strong robotics ecosystem with more than 200 robotics-related companies clustered in its Intelligent Robot Manufacturing City. Its highly integrated local supply chain enables over 90 percent of robot components to be sourced locally, allowing prototypes to be designed, assembled and tested within a single day.

Originally known for its home appliance industry, Beijiao shifted toward robotics as manufacturers embraced automation to meet rising labor costs and growing production demands. Supported by a solid manufacturing base, skilled engineers and government incentives, the township has attracted leading robotics companies and developed a complete industrial chain.

Today, Beijiao continues to expand its robotics sector by focusing on industrial robots, core components and specialized robotic applications, demonstrating how traditional manufacturing can drive high-quality industrial innovation and economic growth.
