China’s newly released provincial development plans for the 2026–2030 period highlight the country’s coordinated approach to sustaining economic growth and strengthening resilience. Aligned with the national 15th Five-Year Plan, all 31 provincial-level regions have tailored development strategies based on their unique strengths while supporting the country’s overall development goals.

The plans prioritize modern industrial development, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, clean energy, and regional cooperation. Coastal provinces are focusing on advanced technologies and innovation, while central and western regions are expanding computing infrastructure and renewable energy to complement national growth.

Officials say the coordinated planning model enables regions to pursue differentiated development, modernize traditional industries, and foster emerging sectors. This balanced approach is expected to strengthen China’s long-term competitiveness, economic stability, and high-quality development.
