Dikko Umaru Radda, governor of Nigeria’s Katsina State, led a state delegation on a visit to Guangdong, China, from April 2 to 5 to advance cooperation in agriculture, new energy, infrastructure, and healthcare, in a move aimed at strengthening subnational ties between China and Nigeria.
During the visit, the delegation met with experts from universities and academic institutions in Guangdong to discuss agricultural modernization and livelihood improvement. Radda said China’s experience in agricultural technology, machinery manufacturing, and industrial operations offers valuable reference for Katsina State’s modernization efforts. Both sides agreed to establish a regular communication mechanism to facilitate follow-up visits and project assessments.
The delegation also visited several key enterprises and attended the inaugural shipment ceremony for the first batch of goods under a bilateral cooperation project. Discussions focused on industrial development, localized production, supply chain enhancement, and healthcare system upgrading, with multiple agreements reached to support project implementation and long-term collaboration.
Radda described the trip as highly productive and commended China’s achievements in modernization and public welfare.
