Shenzhen’s Huaqiangbei electronics district is strengthening its role as a global gateway for Chinese smart technology, attracting buyers and visitors from around the world.

Known as “China’s No. 1 Electronics Street,” Huaqiangbei has 35 specialized markets and more than 115,000 businesses, offering over 1 million types of electronic components and consumer products. The area receives about 750,000 visitors daily, including more than 8,000 international visitors.

International buyers are increasingly seeking AI glasses, smart robots, headphones, and other innovative consumer electronics, in addition to traditional electronic components. Many products are also sold globally through cross-border e-commerce platforms, with Huaqiangbei electronics reaching more than 190 countries and regions.

The district’s highly integrated supply chain allows businesses to source most smart-device components within an hour and rapidly customize products for different markets. Some products can move from design to prototype and mass production in a matter of days.

Indian businessman Mall Kaoyou, who visited Huaqiangbei to source smart electronics, praised the district’s competitive prices, product variety and rapid innovation. He expressed interest in customizing AI glasses for the Indian market.

The growing combination of innovation, flexible manufacturing and global trade is helping Huaqiangbei connect Chinese technology companies with consumers and businesses worldwide.
