The 2026 Afrobeat Carnival is scheduled to take place on December 30 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, bringing music, dance, fashion and food together as part of Nigeria’s year-end festive season.
Organizers say the carnival will feature leading Afro beats performers, live bands, DJs and dance crews, alongside fashion showcases and African food vendors.
They said the program would also include a “Future Sounds” stage dedicated to Abuja-based DJs and producers, providing a platform for emerging talent from the capital’s music scene.
The event comes during Nigeria’s popular “Detty December” season, when concerts, festivals and cultural events attract residents, visitors and members of the Nigerian diaspora returning home for the holidays.
Beyond the performances, organizers say the carnival is intended to highlight the broader creative culture surrounding contemporary African music and provide opportunities for established and emerging creatives to connect with audiences.
The event forms part of Nigeria’s growing year-end entertainment calendar, which has become an important period for live music, cultural showcases and creative-industry events across the country.
