British scholar Martin Jacques has described China’s modernization as a unique development model driven by effective governance, long-term planning, and strong state capacity.

Jacques said China’s rapid economic growth and technological advancement have challenged traditional Western assumptions about development. He also highlighted China’s role in promoting the growth of the Global South and contributing to global development through international cooperation initiatives.

Looking ahead, Jacques expressed confidence in China’s future, predicting that the country will become an increasingly influential force in technology, innovation, and global development, and could come to symbolize modernity in the coming decade.
