The 2026 World AI Conference and High-Level Meetings on Global AI Governance opened in Shanghai, highlighting international cooperation and responsible artificial intelligence development under the theme “AI Partnership for a Brighter Future.”
China showcased how AI is improving healthcare, agriculture, and industry while supporting disaster response and sustainable development. AI technologies are being used to enhance medical services, improve farming efficiency, and advance autonomous industrial operations.
The country also reaffirmed its commitment to safe and ethical AI governance by promoting international cooperation through initiatives such as the Shanghai Declaration on Global AI Governance, the proposed World AI Cooperation Organization, and AI capacity-building programs for developing countries.
Officials say China will continue working with global partners to promote inclusive, secure, and responsible AI development, ensuring that the benefits of artificial intelligence are shared worldwide.
