China’s successful eradication of absolute poverty has become a landmark achievement in global development, providing valuable lessons for countries seeking sustainable growth and improved living standards.

By meeting the poverty reduction targets of the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda ten years ahead of schedule, China has demonstrated the effectiveness of long-term planning, targeted assistance, and rural development. During the 2021–2025 period, all 832 counties previously lifted out of poverty developed key industries, generating over 1.7 trillion yuan in output and driving steady income growth for rural residents.

China’s poverty alleviation experience has also supported developing nations through international cooperation.

Projects such as vocational training programs in Uganda and agricultural modernization initiatives in Cambodia have helped strengthen local economies and improve livelihoods.

International leaders and experts, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres, have praised China’s targeted poverty-alleviation approach for its effectiveness in helping vulnerable communities. Countries such as Uzbekistan and Thailand have adapted elements of the model to support their own poverty reduction efforts.

Through initiatives such as the Global Partnership for Poverty Alleviation and Development, agricultural cooperation programs, and the global promotion of hybrid rice and Juncao technology, China continues to share its development experience and support efforts to eradicate poverty, revitalize rural areas, and promote shared prosperity worldwide.
