Students from different cultural backgrounds are set to gather at Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, on Friday, October 23, for a festival celebrating Delta State’s heritage and Nigeria’s cultural diversity.
Organised by the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU Worldwide), the 2026 Delta Cultural Festival and Exhibition Day will take place under the theme “Echoes of Delta: A Cultural Renaissance”, with a focus on cultural preservation and unity among young people.
According to the organisers, the programme will feature traditional parades, music, fashion shows, art exhibitions and displays of local cuisine.
Cultural presentations will highlight traditions associated with communities across Delta State, including the Urhobo, Ijaw, Isoko, Itsekiri and Anioma, alongside displays representing other Nigerian groups, including the Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani.
The festival will also feature panel discussions and a symposium on cultural identity, exploring how young people can help preserve traditional practices and promote understanding across communities.
The institution’s Acting Rector, Dr Erere Joy Anho, is expected to attend alongside members of the school’s management, staff and students.
