PodFest Naija, a festival focused on podcasting and storytelling, will return to Lagos on Sept. 25 for its second edition, bringing together creators, storytellers, brands and industry professionals.

The one-day event, billed as “A Festival of Stories,” will be held at Harbour Point in Victoria Island. Organised by The Muvmnt Studio, it will feature panel discussions, masterclasses, talent showcases, technical sessions and brand exhibitions.

The inaugural edition in 2025 brought together more than 1,200 creators and 40 storytellers, according to organisers, who said the event and related content reached more than 35 million people across digital platforms and media coverage.

This year’s programme will be organised around six themed stages — Life, Love, Culture, Money, Health and Brand — covering topics including personal experiences, cultural identity, finance, wellbeing and the relationship between creators, audiences and brands.

A separate technical stage will examine issues affecting the business of content creation, including innovation, collaboration, ownership and ways of building a more sustainable creative economy.

The programme will also include The Next Big Podcaster, a talent discovery initiative for emerging podcast creators in Nigeria. The competition is designed to identify new voices and give participants an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, communication and storytelling skills.

A Spotify-led masterclass is also expected to provide creators with practical guidance on developing and sustaining podcast platforms, alongside other sessions focused on the professional and commercial aspects of digital storytelling.

An exhibition arena will allow brands and organisations to showcase products and services and engage with creators and festival participants.

PodFest Naija was established as a platform for Nigeria’s podcasting and storytelling community, providing opportunities for creators to meet, exchange ideas and build professional networks.

The festival comes amid growing interest in podcasting and other forms of independently produced digital content in Nigeria, as creators increasingly use online platforms to reach audiences and develop businesses around their work.

The Sept. 25 event will combine storytelling, industry discussions and talent development as organisers seek to build on the festival’s inaugural edition and strengthen connections across Nigeria’s growing creator community.
