President Trump Gives Iran 48-Hour Ultimatum

U.S. President Donald Trump, on Saturday, April 4, issued a stern 48-hour ultimatum to Iran, demanding it makes a peace deal or open up the Strait of Hormuz waterway to forestall aggravated attacks on its vital infrastructures. This threat comes after President Trump shared videos of massive strikes, highlighting the killed military leaders in Iran.

”Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out- 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to God!” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.

Meanwhile, Iran’s military has rejected Trump’s ultimatum. General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, who responded to the post on behalf of Iran’s central military command, tagged the threat as a ”helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid action”. Tehran has rejected the ”helpless and nervous” ultimatum.

Currently, the international community is on high alert, with several European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, criticizing, resisting, and refusing to back Trump’s demands. The United Kingdom, on Thursday, April 2, chaired a meeting of 40 foreign ministers from different countries to discuss and examine options to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

While the world awaits a truce, this protracted standoff has sent oil prices surging, with Brent Crude currently hovering around $109 to $112 per barrel, thereby raising plausible concerns about global economic stability.
