China has dismissed allegations of industrial overcapacity, arguing that production levels should be assessed through changing global supply and demand rather than fixed measures.

A policy document released by the Ministry of Commerce says China’s manufacturing capacity remains within a reasonable range and supports global industries through innovation, competitive production and expanding imports.

The report also stresses that China’s industrial growth and opening-up policies contribute to global supply chains, economic cooperation and sustainable development, describing the country’s manufacturing strength as a shared opportunity rather than a challenge.
